Hi, my name is Mariga Jenkins. This is my 20th year teaching at Longest Elementary. I have taught kindergarten through third grade, and have enjoyed all of them. For 12 years I taught kindergarten, and loved getting to be a part of the student's first year in school. A few years ago I made a move to first grade. I am enjoying first grade just as much as I did kindergarten. Three years ago a coworker,and I organized an Agriculture Club at Longest for 3rd-5th grade students. The students enjoy raising their own garden and learning about the different aspects of Agriculture in Kentucky. I love to travel, and spend time with my family. I also love animals, and have had a lot of fun working with the 4-H Livestock Club, and watching my kids show their animals at the various fairs around Kentucky. All of our children are grown now, and our youngest is a junior in college at UK. I am looking forward to a new school year, and getting to know my new students, and their families!
